Life Lately: October

I say this every month but - can you believe that it's October?! I've always had a little crush on October. In my mind, it's the official start of the "holiday season" and all things fall (despite that fact that it's still 90+ degrees on the daily here in Florida).

A new month means it's time to catch y'all up with a little Life Lately post - October edition!

Drinking: Pumpkin spice almond milk lattes! My favorite coffee shop makes their own pumpkin sauce and let me just tell you - this stuff is heaven. The number of AML pictures that I have on my phone is truly embarrassing, but they're so pretty that I can't resist snapping a photo before I sip on each one! Just take a look at my Instagram feed for evidence...

Eating: I've been on a Lenny and Larry Complete Cookie kick lately. They are dairy free protein cookies. I love dunking them in my coffee...so delicious! My favorite flavors are Snickerdoodle, Lemon Poppy Seed, Oatmeal Raisin, Birthday Cake (I used to think this one tasted like Play Doh but it grew on me), Double Chocolate PB Swirl, and Coconut Chocolate Chip...okay maybe it would've been easier to tell y'all what flavors I don't like, ha! Acai bowls have also been a staple in my diet lately.

Reading: Do PowerPoint slides count? Kidding, but seriously, that's what I spend most of time time reading. I'm in 4 classes right now and they are all PowerPoint heavy courses. But I also read at least one chapter from Wild and Free: A Hope-Filled Anthem for the Woman Who Feels She is Both Too Much and Never Enough every morning after I finish meditating. I'm really enjoying it, and I'm happy to say that it's expanding my relationship with Jesus in the best way.

Watching: I'm a little bit behind on the times with this one...Grey's Anatomy. I've devoured seasons 1-10 on Netflix. SO GOOD. I'm also about to rewatch (for the third time, don't judge me) Gilmore Girls so that I can be fully prepared for the new episodes that are released next month *praise hands*

Burning: As in candles. I bought 3 fall-esque candles from Bath & Body Works and O-M-G you guys, my house smells like a fall wonderland. Even Adam is on board with the scents. We picked up: Autumn, Pumpkin Spiced Cheesecake, and Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte.

Wearing: I have a confession - I have a problem when it comes to lip products. I buy SO MANY lip glosses, lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, etc. My favorites right now are: TBT creamy matte lip paint by Tarte and Velvet Teddy lipstick by MAC (with Whirl liner).

Wanting: A hair cut. I have been so BLAH with my hair lately and I'm really considering chopping a few inches off. I'm craving a long bob I think, but I'm also terrified to commit.

Thinking About: Getting a new tattoo - which is happening in December! More on that later. And GRAD SCHOOL APPLICATIONS! I turned in my first 3 applications over the weekend and I actually felt really excited/emotional about it. The next few months are going to be all about patience - Lord, help me. I still have at least one more application to submit and possibly up to 3 more. I'm still undecided on exactly how many schools that I'm applying to. Speech-Language Pathology programs are extremely competitive so I want to apply to like EVERY school but let's just say that applications fees add up quite quickly.

What have you been up to lately? :)
xo, Jess

    1. I made an appointment for Wednesday! I don't know if I'll commit to more than a few inches off, but hey, BABY STEPS!

  2. Oh man, sometimes I wonder if Power Point was the worst thing to happen to teaching ever. You'd think that with all the cool ways you can teach nowadays, classes wouldn't be so Power-Point heavy all the time, ya know? But I suppose the visuals and the occasional funny videos are nice to have...
